There are multiple techniques used in eyebrow tattooing, however, I specialise in Powder Brows, otherwise known as Ombre Brows. This technique is suited to all skin types, as it is extremely gentle and doesn’t cause trauma to the skin.

Powder brows use a tattoo machine to create soft, natural, powdery-looking brows. Permanent makeup is often considered to be semi-permanent as pigment fades over time, however, it is permanent in the sense that some lighter pigment will remain. Permanent makeup is a commitment that requires maintenance, and annual touch-up appointments are usually required.

Eyebrow tattooing is a two-part procedure that involves your initial appointment where we determine your shape and build density with a follow-up appointment 6-8 weeks later. Typically, powder brows last up to 3 years, with annual refresh appointments required every two years or so. Different factors affect how long your cosmetic tattoo will last, such as skin type, sun exposure, the skincare products you use, the colour pigment we use, and how you take care of your cosmetic tattoo. It is recommended that clients come in for an annual touch-up to refresh their brows.

Before & After Care

  • No alcohol at least 24 hours before your appointment

    Minimize caffeine intake the day of your appointment

    It is recommended to wash your hair before your appointment to help prevent your brows from getting wet in the shower the next several days(this does NOT mean you cannot wash your hair during the healing process, just helps as a precaution for the first few days of healing).

    Stop the use of blood-thinning medication at least 1 day prior (this includes Ibuprofen and Aspirin)

    Stop using anti-aging skincare products around the area at least 2 weeks prior such as retinol, vitamin a, c, glycolic acid

    Limit sun exposure and tanning services in the days leading up to your appointment. If your face is freshly sunburnt, you can not get tattooed

    Refrain from using skin products with active ingredients around the area 2 weeks prior such as retinol, vitamin c, glycolic acid, other types of AHAs/BHAs, niacin amide or brightening products

    Do not get any chemical peels, IPL, micro-needling, exfoliations, or abrasive skin treatment that require downtime, at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment

    If you have had your eyebrows previously tattooed elsewhere, you must send me a photo of your existing tattoo for pre-approved before booking an appointment

    Do not work out the day of your appointment as this can lead to more bleeding

    Consider bringing reference photos or finding pictures in my portfolio that you like. I will work with you to find a shape, color, and style that suits you, but welcome your preferences!

    We will not be able to tattoo over any blemishes, sores, and moles in or around the brow are

  • The best results come from keeping your brows from getting wet for the next 10 days! That means no sweating, swimming, working out, saunas, spas, or sun.​

    Use the brow shields provided to keep your face directly out of the shower stream and do your best to carefully wash hair and keep your face as dry as possible. Keep clean, dry paper towels on hand to pat dry if they accidentally get moist. Also keep showers brief, as too much steam can harm brows as well.​

    When washing your face, be sure not to splash water onto your face like we normally do. Instead use a washcloth or disposable cleansing wipe to wash around the brows, making sure they stay dry. 

    Immediately after your appointment I will apply tattoo butter to your eyebrows, this can be removed 1-2 hours after your appointment using the sterile wipes included in your aftercare kit. Use the oil blotting papers provided to clean your brows and remove any oil or sweat 3-4 times a day for 10 days starting from day 1. 

    Do not apply any products to your brows other than the ointment provided for 10 days. Use the ointment provided once a day and use sparingly. ​​

    After 10 days (or when all peeling and flaking has finished) you can begin to wash your face normally, including your brows! You may also wish to use a pencil or powder if there is any unevenness during healing. 

    Cosmetic tattooing is a two-step process requiring a minimum of 2 appointments to complete. During healing, your tattoo will start off very dark, and fading dramatically during healing. This is known as the 'ghosting' faze of healing, and pigment will continue to come back for up to 12 weeks.
